Raspberry Lemonade

pink-lemonade2 If you’re looking for a more natural alternative to “pink lemonade powdered drink”, you’ve come to the right place. I make this for my kids, who happen to LOVE pink lemonade. It makes a nice summertime drink, but I made it today because its pink. I thought it would look nice with pretty pink pancakes for Valentine’s Day. It only has 4 ingredients and does not include the ever obscure label ”natural flavors”. Oh and kids love to turn the sugar water hot pink with raspberries. It’s magic. Fresh raspberries would have been great, but it is February. In Michigan. I used frozen berries.

ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup red raspberries

raspb seeds

In a large saucepan, boil 2 cups water with sugar. Cook 2 minutes to dissolve sugar.

Remove from heat and stir in 3 more cups water and lemon juice.

Mash raspberries with one cup water in a blender. Strain out the seeds and stir into lemon water.

lemonade pour jar

Pour lemonade into a half-gallon mason jar and refrigerate.

If you’ve found a babysitter for Valentine’s Day, try this lemonade with a splash of Polish vodka.
