Do you remember the days when every good potluck displayed a Jell-O salad or 10? And not just plain red Jell-O in a Pyrex bowl. No, I’m talking way back, when Jell-O salads were an indisputable sign of Grandma’s kitchen skill. These were the days when old ladies would compete in a secret contest for who could float the most bizarre ingredients in her Jell-O. Cooks would toss in everything from peaches to cottage cheese, olives, or even salmon. Really? Salmon? Let’s make this year’s holiday dinners a feast Grandma would be proud of. It’s time to bring back the Jell-O salads! So venture to the basement, dig out Grandma’s Tupperware mold and get creative! I’ve chosen some of my favorites and posted them here. But I draw the line at fish in my Jell-O.

Some of the recipes recommend oiling the Jell-O molds. I have never done that with my plastic, Tupperware Jell-O molds. Once you peel the top off the mold, it will break the airtight seal and the Jell-O will slide right out. If you use a different type of mold, it may need to be oiled.

I’ve also created a Pinterest board featuring these 12 Jell-o recipes. Enjoy!

I love my jello molds, but I gotta admit, pretzel salads have just the right balance of salty & sweet & fruity. This raspberry treat is rich and delightful. It’s like a mini Jell-o party all in one dish. These are my favorite gluten free pretzels. I think they taste even better than wheat pretzels.  GET THE RECIPE
